Alternative new slogan: We may not be fast, but we're old and slow.

Ring Road paving June 29-30

For anyone planning on riding the Ring Road next week there will be paving work going on around Parking Lot C (just past the library) from 7:30am on June 29th to 5:00pm on June 30th. During work on Parking Lot C, Ring Road will be open but reduced to one lane. During the work on the Ring Road itself...

Re: Group Riding during covid

We have done some consultation, but with real medical doctors, not with "doctors" of atmospheric science and other such hobbies. Bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha!!! Keeping in mind, of course, that I'm the doctor with the irrepressible zooplankton hobby. That aside Martin, I agree with the rest of wha...

No worries Rob...I was actually writing on behalf of my long-suffering summer road-bike, which has being going above and beyond the call of duty lately.

Re: Looking for input on weight loss from riding.

Hi Rob...I share your pain - sort of. Hi all, So one of the unintended consequences of not riding these past couple months is that I’ve gone from a large number of lbs to an even larger number of lbs. I thought I had levelled out at that very large number - a weight that I really hoped would...

I think that one might be Barton's. Not enough patches to be Lister's.

Astrophysicist gets magnets stuck up nose...

...while trying to invent a coronavirus device

And here I was, thinking that astrophysicists were smarter than the rest of us scientists. Bear in mind that I study zooplankton for a living, so the bar was set pretty low, admittedly. But still...

Re: Fairfield Starbucks

Good point Joe. We've occasionally used the Cook Street Bucky's in the past (most recently for the Winter Solstice Ride), and it has the added advantage that it opens at 5:30am in case anyone needs LOTS of coffee before the Sunday ride.

Re: Fairfield Starbucks

Has anyone thought to check whether any of these fine establishments even want a big group of cyclists showing up at 7:00am on Sunday mornings?

My two cents.

When I started with the club I'd ask Lister who various people were after a ride and he'd reply: "What kind of bike were they riding?" To which I'd reply "Umm...a shi...
