And here I was, thinking that astrophysicists were smarter than the rest of us scientists. Bear in mind that I study zooplankton for a living, so the bar was set pretty low, admittedly. But still...

Re: Fairfield Starbucks

Good point Joe. We've occasionally used the Cook Street Bucky's in the past (most recently for the Winter Solstice Ride), and it has the added advantage that it opens at 5:30am in case anyone needs LOTS of coffee before the Sunday ride.

Re: Fairfield Starbucks

Has anyone thought to check whether any of these fine establishments even want a big group of cyclists showing up at 7:00am on Sunday mornings?

My two cents.

Re: Winter Bike Stolen

>I inserted your missing bike's characteristics into the Tripleshot Bicycle Image Search Engine® We used to just call that "Lister". When I started with the club I'd ask Lister who various people were after a ride and he'd reply: "What kind of bike were they riding?" To which I'd reply "Umm...a shi...

It's not every day that you see an article about keirin races in the popular press.

I know it's a bit early to be collecting nominees for next year's Post of the Year, but this photo is just begging for a caption competition.

There used to be a time when we awarded TSC gloating points. Perhaps time to reinstate?

Early morning temperatures and black ice

Check out this morning's temperature record from the weather station at Quadra Elementary: Quadra school temp.png Just a reminder that we're getting into that time of year where the coldest temperatures often occur nearly an hour after sunrise (i.e. when we're heading home after coffee). This mornin...

The most important post in the thread is Norm's - wherein he's lay out club's founding principles (developed over coffee, natch).

Amen,

P.S. Did I mention that I still blame John Taylor for convincing me that riding a road bike at 6:00am was a good idea?

Re: Tripleshot T-shirt?

"The most important person on the ride is everyone else" It has to be this one, which has become the club's unofficial motto. I believe the original quote was actually "The most important person on a group ride is everyone else", but it's close enough and it captures the Tripleshot ethos. JD P.S. I...

Re: Tripleshot T-shirt?

Hi Rob....thanks very much for stepping up to organize things. I believe Geoff Wong organized the last t-shirt order several years ago, but not sure which company he used. Before we get too far down this road we should consider whether the existing design is still the one we want. For example, the t...

Re: Cross Group Size

Surely the simplest solution is that like every other TSC group that leaves the parking lot, the cross group(s) should just ride on its own from the start. I'd try to find a suitably gross parasitism gif but I've just finished my lunch.
