Best pandemic project ever!

I saw Mikael Jansson riding around Ring road on this old folding bike, while I was figuring out segments for the youth team. I figured he was just commuting on one of his collection. Then he went by again, and the effort was evident. Then again, yelling “only two laps to go!”. Turns out, Mikael has ...

Re: Virtual training options

Thanks Nick and Curran.

When could I pick it up Nick?

I suspect many of our trainers are current enough to be in zwifts table of resistance estimates. Will play with them to see what can be done.

Re: Virtual training options

You wrap it around your chain stay and then have magnets on your wheel and crank. Let me confirm it’s functional and if so it’s yours. Thanks is Rob. So does it talk direct to a laptop? Or via a speedometer or Wahoo-Garmin type device? Either way we’re keen. Joanna has a wahoo but no sensors, and I...

Re: Virtual training options

Hey lister. Bluetooth works also. And more computers have Bluetooth sensors. I have a speed/cadence sensor I’m happy to donate. They only cost around 75 bucks. I don’t know if Zwickau does this but TrainerRoad uses something called virtual power to help with targeting proper zones. They have a data...

Virtual training options

Hi TS brain trust: Hope you’re coping ok with the isolation. I’m trying to think of ways to run group virtual workouts for the youth program riders. We’ve posted diy exercises, and the older ones are doing solo rides outdoors. However it’s group stuff that our program is based on, much as with the a...

Re: Jay Lamoureux Selected for Tokyo Olympics.

Jay just informed me the team is selected, but the members aren’t. Given that he’s always ridden on the team in World Cups and World championships I’d guess yes, but not confirmed.

Re: Trunk rack needed tonight for Burnaby track camp

Thanks Fozzie. Another member also offered me one, which seems like it fits the Nissan Leaf. Just waiting for confirmation the ferry shuttle family needs it.

Trunk rack needed tonight for Burnaby track camp

Hi all: Two youth team riders Trevor Macfarlane and Remy Garrison are attending a provincial team track camp at Burnaby tomorrow, but their ride from the ferry doesn’t have a rack that fits their car, and can’t fit them inside. Anyone got a trunk rack they could loan for a Nissan Leaf, for them to c...

Drink beer Feb 29 and help out the Nature Trails Society

Who knew drinking beer could get you into heaven? The Nature Trails Society (who brought you heavenly public multi-use trails like Hector Connector, Canada Cup, Electric Avenue, crossfondo links, and soon, Safe Trails to School in Central Saanich), is hosting a Music Bingo fundraiser at the Fernwood...

Re: Sufferfest videos?

I was thinking CD because I don’t seem to be able to get a full sample session wth the online trial. I’ll keep looking but only see 1 minute samples in the trial.

Sufferfest videos?

Hi all:
I'd like to try a SufferFest video to see if it might be suitable for the youth trainer session this week. Anyone got a CD version i could try before buying?

Thanks!

Re: Jay, Erin, Riley to ride World Cup in Milton

You’ve probably already seen it, but Erin’s team won the bronze medal! The A team training is Australia has to be looking over its shoulders. Another good ride for Erin too, one of the strongest riders of the team. If you get a chance, watch pursuits with a stop watch, time lap splits and note the p...

Re: Jay, Erin, Riley to ride World Cup in Milton

Second fastest qualifier, behind the US powered by Dygert.

Erin pulled back a big chunk of time in her last pull. And this with the B team. And apparently they’re all sick.

Re: Jay, Erin, Riley to ride World Cup in Milton

Erin just let me know she’s doing team pursuit and Madison at Milton. And also that Jay won’t be there; they decided to keep the A team in New Zealand to prepare for world championships in March, and the development team will race Milton. Riley and Erin will be well qualified to carry the Tripleshot...
