Re: Peter Saying Thank You Tripleshot

Peter,
It's so good to hear you're the back home and healing! Although I totally understand the nursing staff will miss your wit and humour. Take care and keep those smiles coming :) .

Recovery from crash at Thursday TTT

Thank you everyone for your concern this morning after my wheel touching crash after the deer warning. Especially to Alan Cook who accompanied me on the ride back home. I'm heeding Alan's advice and will visit ER if there's any headache or nausea, but so far after a good breakfast and a bit of a res...

Re: Fairfield Starbucks

I haven't heard anyone suggest Cook St. Starbucks. Actually, it was Dvora at the Monday Holiday ride (Feb. 17) who suggested it as that's where she and other regulars from the Fairfield Starbucks have decided to relocate. Also, coming from the other side of the Johnson St. Bridge, Cook St. is a bit ...

Deer collision on Humpback

Today's Saturday Sufferfest was marred by a crash with a deer around 8am this morning. Rob Duncan went head over heels after T-boning a Bambi on Humpback Rd., as we were heading south towards Sooke Rd. (Hwy). Rob was leading, called out a deer, she crossed in front and we thought we were clear. Sudd...

Re: Saturday Sufferfest

No worries Matt, we'll go as strong as we can. Starbucks, Cook St it is. Maybe there will be some others that show-up or meet us on the way.

I'm interested in an another Saturday 6am ride tomorrow morning, Aug. 3rd. Is there anyone else?
Could be Cook St. Starbucks or the Switch Bridge as a starting point.

I found out this morning that the VCL Mill Bay race scheduled for tomorrow has been cancelled.
I spoke to Andy this morning and I know he's interesed in a ride tomorrow morning at 6am from Cook St. Starbucks, our usual meeting place.
Anyone else?

Re: Saturday sufferfest

Distance .... I checked again. If we head out to Sooke via East Sooke (Metchosin Rd. ... Rocky Pt. Rd.... and Gillespie) then turn left on Sooke Rd. to Sooke and Otter Pt. ..... it's a 105km round trip from Esquimalt .... so about 115 from Cook St. return.

Re: Saturday sufferfest

I'm in for Otter Pt. tomorrow, leaving at 6 from Starbucks. I do need to be back in town by 10:30ish. But Otter Pt. and back, by itself isn't much more than 90kms.

Hang in there Rob, you'll be back stronger than ever.

L'histoire de maillot jaune

The other day on the French news there was a report on the history of the Tour de France yellow jersey, which is 100 years old this summer. If you go to the link below and drag the "thermometer" at the bottom of the screen to precisely 28 minutes, you should be able to watch it. Fascinating even if ...
