Re: Friday, April 26 - Hidden Paths

Old and new hidden (the uplands park access looks like driveways). I questioned my memory yesterday when I tried to go through both those entrance points, since (at both people) were in their driveway, but it’s NOT their driveways.....its access road to uplands park Martin. I checked with the munici...

Re: Friday, April 26 - Hidden Paths

I’m not talking about maintenance of pathways. I’m talking about building on them, outright falsifying your property line. Do you think they should get tax breaks because of a path, and then just claim/steal the path anyway? It’s criminal. It’s worth bringing attention to, even if it’s just bought b...

Re: Friday, April 26 - Hidden Paths

I love peaceful trails, pathways and alley options. This one infuriates me because 4 blocks got away with it.....and not with just cars, signs and refuse blocking access. It’s completely and impossibly blocked by all of the home owners. That’s 12-6 homes from beach dr (who doesn’t love opting off be...

Re: Friday, April 26 - Hidden Paths

The municipality also told me to lodge a formal complaint via email, but since I’m not a resident of oak bay my opinion won’t carry much weight. Everyone should email the municipality and ask the pathway accessible, but not on the municipality dime. The 12-6 houses built fences and landscaping on a ...

Re: Friday, April 26 - Hidden Paths

Why would the city have to pay for the removal of fences and landscaping that the homeowners build on public land? They should have to pay. Homeowners get consideration for their property value if a public access path is beside it. These people have already gotten reduced prices, now extra land and ...

Re: Friday, April 26 - Hidden Paths

You’ll be scaling fences. You can’t get through (at any point of any of the 4 streets) . It’s ridiculous and I encourage you to do it, but it’ll take awhile..... Email the municipality and complain so it’s dealt with...... rbuser@oakbay.ca Nottingham will be easier although the second alley will als...

Re: VCL#1 report

That SUCKS!! Are you okay? It looks like the same area where the dog came at us on Tuesday. I'm not positive, but dog owners don't usually let their dogs roam free into the streets, so it has to be. Someone should ride there and see if it happens before the next race, or talk to the owner, or someth...

Dog ...well the owner

Was that dog just around the corner of Caleb (just after Millstream) a bit before the finish line?
If yes, it did the same to me & Elizabeth on Tuesday when I was showing her the course. No bailing, but not good.
Which means the owner needs to be contacted...

The dear and true bunnies a re cute but both are a hazard when your take on the risks of the road as we do. I think the royal treatment should be strongly considered: to wit Prince Andrew said: "It is very Simple . this is what we do at BalmoralYou just get a truck. You fill it with feed. The Dee c...

Re: Tuesday B1 crash

It's not fair deer are not cruel on purpose, like people. Humans (the most invasive species on the planet & dictating ourselves to the rulers of the planet) destroyed the earth to make it habitable beyond luxury for ourselves. They are surviving in a foreign environment. What about the humans that d...

TS Monday Ride

Hi, When someone is planning on showing up will they keep me posted? I've yet to connect with a single soul & I've never learned the route, because no one has ever been there. I know there's a Wednesday ride, is this the new monday ride or completely different prospect Munn? Different meeting locati...

Re: Suffering on Saturday in a different way

I just did that ride on Wednesday & the hat (on Friday)is the cleanest I've ever seen it, since the "improvements" every mm counts. No big rocks, clay, beer bottles. I thought they had swept it for the long weekend. Are they cleaning it more often in the tourist months???? it does not look like that...

Sunday ride VS. self transcendence

Just a reminder that the self transcendence will be on the roads tomorrow, I don't think any rides hit the route?

Re: TS Tuesday B1 /A2

I'm sorry. I was only at the first few rides after Lisa's crash to enforce the new rules. Which were weird, but no one wanted to bring the sign & suggestions were nil. It was the original plan, the modification sounds way more logical. I agree people take that turn way too wide & cross the yellow on...

Re: TS Tuesday B1 /A2

I agree & if it was possible it would of been done. As for the clarification on the ride structure it's good for everyone to know it's been changed to 2nd rider resuming the paceline after the Henderson corner. I think this kind of clarification is perfect for the forum...as now all know the change ...

Re: TS Tuesday B1 /A2

I was recovering from a long pull, but since Lisa's crash onto the wrong side of the road, singling up is priority 1, so the ride does not get banned. As for the formation, my suggestion along with changing the ride to single file for Lansdowne, the person who did pull the lansdowne pull was guarant...

Re: TS Tuesday B1 /A2

Thanks . It wasn't a safety thing, but next time I'll ignore the rude comments & take my frustration out on the ride. I did a long pull because I was getting too much recovery, even in the smaller group. My mistaken. I'd ride A but Peter says I need to be able to ride solo for an hour of a speed fas...
