Re: Silly Summer Solstice, C

Emailed and chatted with the Exec. Given the status of BHP, we're postponing the Solstice Ride until the following Sunday (June 23). Location may need to change as well. Keep checking in here for updates. Please spread the word--no Solstice Ride on June 16. Thanks to various people who've done recon...

Re: Silly Summer Solstice, C

One would want to be careful about managing groups passing. There are some narrow pinch points where it's unsafe to have 2 2-up groups side by side. With a large group (or two), it requires especially careful communication to manage passing safely. And remember a group goes 4 wide during the handoff...

Re: Sunday C June 9

Yes, there's a significant difference. The Sunday "C ride" advertised here is more than twice the distance of the regular Sunday Social ride, and the pace will likely be significantly slower than the Sunday Social. The Sunday Social ride sometimes splits into a fast group and a slow group, but often...

Re: Heather Simonson Busted!

So far Heather is age group Canadian Masters Champion in the Individual Time Trial (Friday) and the Road Race (Saturday). Is she racing the Legislature Crit tomorrow? If so, I propose a large Tripleshot turnout to cheer her on. Martin p.s. Even if she's not, lots of your friends will be racing tomor...

Perfect timing, because you'll be nicely warmed up for the Tripleshot Hurricane Ridge ride on August 11.

Who's taken over JohnT's body? The real JohnT never wears kit less than 10 years old.

Olympic fever for Tripleshot?

Hi folks, Next year is looking to be a bit of a club milestone, with Tripleshot Youth Program alumnus Jay Lamoureux on track to represent Canada at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in the Team Pursuit. He will be the first of our Youth Program graduates to make it to the Olympics. Jay joined Tripleshot in 20...

Re: Great Trail Ride Survey

It's true, I fear. Steve posted a lovely response to all of you who aided him in during his trial on the trail. And I thought, "This couldn't possibly be Steve Lund...someone must have hacked his account." and deleted his post. Actually, I just pushed the wrong (administrator's) button when trying t...

Re: Speedway #3

In case you haven't figured it out, these Speedway races are pretty fun for spectators as well as racers. You can see 100% of each race from start to finish all from one spot. They're great to watch and the ride home with jazzed racers swapping war stories can be pretty special too. A nice vibe over...

Sunday May 5 starting at 3pm. I've said until 4:30 in the email I sent out, but Neil will know better whether the Fernwood has a later booking in that back room. Otherwise, I'm happy to stick around longer.

Just a note that the kit try-on tonight (Fri Apr 5) will need to wrap up at 7pm. The Jakroo rep needs to leave 1/2 hour earlier than originally planned. Try to be there by 6:45 if you want to try stuff on.

Best,

When I was in Austria last summer I noticed that the lycra crowd wore helmets and the commuters didn't. Almost universally...though on a hot day some lycra riders would remove their helmet to climb. And there weren't protected lanes in the area I spent most of my time. Helmets don't make the differe...
