2020 Ride to Conquer Cancer

Just got an email from Ride to Conquer Cancer. Information about the 2020 event can be found here. https://ride.conquercancer.ca/vancouver20/about/ Norman did this ride last year. Riders commit to raise at least $2500. Norman raised much more, as I recall. People can enter as individuals or as teams...

Re: 30th December - Bikes n' brunch ride

I'm in.

If I know the mileage in advance, I might plan my next couple days so that I finish on this ride. And then I might--in my giddy euphoria--buy a round. Just sayin'.

Re: Cycling around Almaty

I flew a Lufthansa code share with Air Canada to Vienna a couple summers ago and the bike fee was very reasonable (between $50 and $100 each way). I think it counted as my checked bag, but there was an oversize charge for it, or something like that. As opposed to "additional baggage that is a bike."...

Re: Silly Solstice Ride

With one group doing 30 and one doing 25 the faster group would pass the slower group about 10 times over the course of the ride. Could get a bit hairy, especially with peacocks, pedestrians, and narrow sections. Would it be possible for a group wanting a less strenuous ride to sit on the back and s...

Apparently our t-shirts used to read, "Catch the early bus!" or something like that. Complete with a VW bus. Hmm....
