Re: Laps at Beacon Hill

My understanding is that its OK to tag on, but just dont get involved in any sprints or lead outs of the group you have tagged on to.

Basically you can sit in at the back.

But I might be wrong...

Hurricane ridge Canada day

Is anyone making the trek over to Hurricane ridge for the usual Canada day ride (Not the official Tripleshot Hurricane ridge ride which happens in August I think).

Re: Masters Nationals TT & Crit

Bravo Neil. Great report.

So much fun racing this weekend, perched somewhere between fatigue and terror. As you and Paul point out, you learn so much racing.

Look forward to doing it again next year:)

Cycling- the price of success?

If you have an hour, this is a great (and fairly balanced) doc on British Cycling, its success, and the price of that success:

Cycling BC Board elections.

Hi, The Cycling BC board elections are under way. Please take the time to submit a vote for the Board as this is the governing body for our sport that oversees not only racing, but insurance and advancing the sport in the Province. For those wondering who to vote for, having sat on the Board for the...

Re: Capacity training or utility training?

No doubt that too much "Utilization training" or high intensity without an adequate base is a recipe for breaking down. The physiology of training is very interesting and the training theory built on top of that is even more so. Trying to parse what is "evidence" based and likely true vs "evidence" ...

New Friday route?

The A1 ride today introduced a new wrinkle to the time honored Friday route because of the ongoing construction around Beacon Hill: The new wrinkle goes up Caddie Bay and does one loop of the Tuesday box without any sprints. This adds the distance lost by losing the laps at BHP and also adds another...

Speedway

Thanks to John T. Martin, the other volunteers and the officials last night for another awesome evening of racing. That must be the biggest turnout for almost all the races ever. Congrats. So much fun racing on a closed circuit, on a spectacular spring evening (and not on the box, in the dark, dodgi...

Bike travel bags

Anyone have any recommendations on buying a travel bag for a bike.
Preferably one that could accommodate either a road or MTB.

Re: A question for the doctors: how many Tylenol can I take?

Im a doctor who prescribes these things : My 2 cents- just for information and a word of caution: You can safely take 4g of Tylenol a day without any issues. You can probably take more, but you may run into issues with your liver. This is highly unlikely though in a fit healthy person with a good me...

B rides- a suggestion

Tripleshot caters for all levels of riders. To that end, we have designated "A","B" and "C" rides: "A" rides are drop rides and if you leave the parking lot on an A ride, no one is expected or expecting to wait for you. If you have a mechanical, the group may stop to help, but its incumbent on you t...

Amstel gold- the race that was lost 6 weeks ago

For those with a passing interest in bike racing, the 2019 Amstel Gold race today was a classic. If you can find a feed of the last 50km, its a classic- (try tiz-cycling or youtube). This interview from one of the vanquished tells the story of the race and how a memory from how the Strade Bianchi pl...

Re: Helmets

I think the point is that enforcing a helmet law maybe has negative consequences with respect to getting people on bikes. I think anyone riding without a helmet is nuts for all the reasons you point out Chris. But, having spent some time in Amsterdam where EVERYONE rides a bike and NO ONE wears a he...
