Re: Saturday Sufferfest

Sig mentioned this morning he'd like to ride at 6 tomorrow morning. So, on behalf of Sig, I invite others to join along. All done by 9 then back to bed...? :D

Steve and I are likely in, too. AJ Neale is a maybe. I'm hoping Joe, Andy and other nice people will also come out. More the merrier.

borrow a MTB?

Taking the kids to Cumberland next week. My daughter is about my size (16"/sm frame) and I'd love to set her up with something that she'll enjoy on the trails. She's a gentle lass. And her mum would be most grateful if someone had a loaner we could use for a few days. :)

Convalescing with a little wishing and online shopping, Rob?

(p.s. Sorry to hear of your encounter with a deer...rascally little buggers.)

Re: Munns rd Wednesday

Andrew, do you mean the "traditional" Caddy Bay hills? I might be able to make the Munns ride this week. Anyone else thinking of doing that?

And a special thanks to the Tripleshot board for agreeing to subsidize a very large and very tasty bag of Hawkins Cheezies which fuelled us to the Mill Bay Ferry. cheezies.jpg Hey, I'm a fully paid up club member. Where are my Cheezies? Must've been the little crumbs under my feet outside the porta...

Re: Big Loop Ride July 28

This OCD type has compiled an easy-reading list of the stops. 1. Sooke River Store, corner of Sooke Road and Sooke River Road 2. Jordan River, left hand side of road just as you come to the oceanside 3. Port Renfrew, left hand side opposite Denning Road (the right turn to Lake Cowichan) 4. Lake Cowi...

Re: Big Loop Ride July 28

With nearly 24 riders signed up, and with a wide range of strengths and abilities, I propose that we plan to ride this event as two groups right from the the start. Twenty-four and counting. With the great weather forecast, late additions are highly likely. And, while I'm all for safety in numbers ...

Re: Saturday sufferfest

Thanks for the distance check, Joe. I'd counter that we do the Sooke Rd/Gillespie options in the other order, though. Getting the longer hwy stretch done early seems better from a traffic standpoint, no? Then we return via the (quieter) East Sooke route on the return. Or if anyone's gassed by then t...

Are you going down to the states, Rob? What about Steve S? Be good to get a bit of a crowd out tomorrow for a bit of a different route.

Re: Saturday sufferfest

Thinking ahead to riding on Saturday. Last week, we had an excellent crew of six out for the usual peninsula route but discussed the possibility of doing something different this coming week. I believe the tentative plan is to meet at Cook Sbx at 0600 for Otter Point (beyond Sooke). See above for my...

Re: Tuesday ride and road work

This morning's ride finished just in the nick of time*. Within an hour (or so), the intersection was fully closed with torn up pavement in "our" corner of the intersection. Hopefully someone can post an update before next Tuesday as to the state of things. Hopefully by then, we'll have delicious new...

Nope, sorry. There are still two Velofix jerseys and a lovely purple "Tour de Lavender" one, though. All large-ish.

Re: Saturday sufferfest

I like where this is headed. A 7am start with a lovely group of people. I am not very interested in riding the peninsula, hence the Otter Point idea. I was thinking we'd ride the Goose to Goldstream (via Wale) and ride the new parkway over to Sooke Rd. Then some Sooke highway (safer in numbers!) and...

Count me in for this week, and likely next as well.

Steve, Wed mornings during school were not doable this year but with summer comes less predictability (but more flexibility).

Bring on the Munns!

OMG, where was the QC with the photography? So much blurriness. So many slippered feet! Good thing my friends are so forgiving of my foibles. (Or maybe my adorable slippers have blinded them to the shoddy photographic work...) JT, I think Greg is right. They fit a slightly burlier fellow than you, s...

Free to juniors and new riders. By donation to Tripleshot Youth for anyone else. Pics are on UsedVic. Plus a pair of super funky Hotel Zed arm warmers. All are Steve-Lund-size and in decent shape. Just surplus to needs (or a colour that doesn't adequately compliment his complexion). https://www.used...

Leechtown Saturday

My titanium-reinforced riding partner and I are going to ride the Goose to Leechtown tomorrow morning. Leaving at 9 (9:05 Switch Bridge).
1. Anyone else want to join us?
2. How far is that? I seem to recall it's something over 100km return, but not a lot more. Maybe 120?
Cheers,
Claire

I'd love to ride some hills this Saturday but wondering if anyone wants to start at 9? I'm not able to get out any earlier this time. Otherwise, the usual route with any of its variants sound like fun.

Re: Great Trail Ride Survey

Steve was surgically reassembled today and is laying low at home for the time being (which, strangely precludes him from all manner of house chores but not from operating the barbecue...). He's sporting a high-end titanium reinforcement plate and anodized purple screws in a throwback to his days as ...
