Re: Group splitting?

So: in the case of novel routes, the best way to split is in advance based on forum posts, allowing another leader to get up to speed on the posted route. The alternative is another leader could do a different ride, either announced in advance or offered spontaneously on the spot. Chances of two re...

Re: Tripleshot T-shirt?

While I'm a big fan of "The most important person..." I prefer it as a phrase not written down. It's perfect as word-of-mouth unofficial motto, but perhaps a bit pious once written down. I fully agree with this. Unwritten club motto is definitely what that is and, IMO, where it best remain. Here's ...

Well done! It’s really good, even my kids liked it!
High praise, indeed! (and I'm not being sarcastic)

Great work, sweets. So many great 2019 moments captured in there!

What time does this thing start, anyway? 6:00? I'm not seeing the start time in any of the party threads here.

Re: Need more coffee pictures!

Rolf, I asked for them in the "sorting" folder so I could clearly see what was new and not have to sift through things I've already sifted through! :x But, no matter. As long as they get added at the end of the galleries, I should be able to find them. And the photo-inclusion window is about to clos...

Re: Sunday Dec 8 "MTB-cross-light"

Highlights: ... Optimistically catching up with early MTB-Cross ride* ... * I estimate we'll land at Corry Rd south (Munn Rd Mt Work lot) between 8:40 and 9:00. I'll text Ron a half-hour warning and if the stars align and we actually pull this off...it'll be a fortuitous meet-up for the history boo...

Need more coffee pictures!

We have a bang-up slide show nearly ready for tomorrow night's party. But for a club of caffeine addicts, we are shockingly low on coffee-shop photos. Please upload to the "Upload here for sorting" gallery on the TS photos page (see my previous post for the link). Crowd shots, friends cradling their...

Re: Sunday Dec 8 "MTB-cross"

Rob - let's stick with 6:30. Ron is planning to join at the halfway+ mark after he's slept off his hangover x 3. We'll discuss here when that would most likely happen. In fact, here's a rough idea of a route (it's from the JSB so add mileage for commuting and for whatever Ron takes us on that's not ...

Re: Sunday Dec 8 "MTB-cross"

Ron, I like your idea. The tricky part might be correctly estimating our arrival time at Munn. I will take a closer look at my route aspirations and gbty. Rob, I'm still game even if it's just the two of us. I'm looking forward to overindulging (on food) at the TS party so a nice long dirt ride will...

Sunday Dec 8 "MTB-cross"

Last time we dipped our toes into the inviting Hartland singletrack, a number of us rather enjoyed its technical challenges and strenuous climbs. I thought I'd revisit some of the trails we tried a few weeks ago--plus more!--on a longer Sunday cross/MTB route of my devising (insert evil cackle). I w...

Calling all shutterbugs!

Hi camera-happy cyclist friends. Steve and I are grabbing lots of good photos from the gallery that Rolf so presciently established a couple of years ago to create a slide show showcasing all your sweat and tears. If you haven't already heeded his many, many requests to add your photos to the variou...

Interestingly, the place(s) to access the campground trails appear about 1/8 of the way into our trackside trudge.

Re: Nov 24th - Along The Tracks

Thanks, Ron, for the boldness to try something new. I actually found the trackside riding a little meditative—but not quite strenuous enough to warm me up before the sunshiny spots. Sorry I had to deke out early. (Even sorrier is that my pockets were still laden with precisely the right number of co...

Re: Raptor GTX Winter Shoes - size 40

Hi Joanna. Can you confirm that these are for SPDs (not the big road cleats)? Also, usually Euro 40 is US size 9. Can you indicate what your US shoe size is and how well they fit your feet? 40 would work for me but 7.5 would not. Thanks!

Re: Sunday, Nov 10 - HARTLAND

If we're feeling ambitious at our farthest point north, we could tack on the 8km loop that appears at the top of this route: https://www.strava.com/routes/22582685 It's almost all off-road, utilizing a little Partridge Hills trails, a flat seaside trial in Willis Pt and a gnasty climb from the ocean...

Re: Sunday, Nov 10 - HARTLAND

Instead of Caldecote, let's take Sparton to Prospect and get into the MTB park off Meadowbrook ('Executive' - it was part of the TSCF, but we did it in the opposite direction). We'll wend our way CCW around Mt Work then take a bit of road (Ross Durance) to Corey Rd, and resume your route from there....

Re: Sunday, Nov 10 - HARTLAND

OMG unilateral time adjustment. Into darkness. You are a troublesome one, aren't you? I can cobble something together from wherever. The trails I have in mind span much of the park (in a relatively direct way). And yes, years of MTBing has etched a decent sense of what's what in there. Although I ca...
