Leechtown Saturday

My titanium-reinforced riding partner and I are going to ride the Goose to Leechtown tomorrow morning. Leaving at 9 (9:05 Switch Bridge).
1. Anyone else want to join us?
2. How far is that? I seem to recall it's something over 100km return, but not a lot more. Maybe 120?
Cheers,
Claire

Re: Metchosin Hillfest #3 SATURDAY

I'd love to ride some hills this Saturday but wondering if anyone wants to start at 9? I'm not able to get out any earlier this time. Otherwise, the usual route with any of its variants sound like fun.

Re: Great Trail Ride Survey

Steve was surgically reassembled today and is laying low at home for the time being (which, strangely precludes him from all manner of house chores but not from operating the barbecue...). He's sporting a high-end titanium reinforcement plate and anodized purple screws in a throwback to his days as ...

Re: A question for the doctors: how many Tylenol can I take?

* by "almost" I mean I hang around doctors a fair bit and have seen this amount prescribed countless times. But I'm really just a nerd with a fascination with all things medical. I believe there may be issues with taking Advil and high-intensity exercise, so stay away from that combination unless so...

Re: A question for the doctors: how many Tylenol can I take?

Hi. I'm almost a doctor and happen to have good knowledge of Tylenol dosing. You can take up to 1000mg (that's one gram) at a time, up to four times in a 24hr period. So a max of four grams/24hrs. You can also take whatever the daily dose of Advil/ibuprofen is concurrently, if you're so inclined.

Borrow a bike for my 10-yr-old?

My son has an old and worn out bike and I'd like to take him on the trails this weekend. A new bike is on the horizon but in the short term I'd love to try out a decent bike on him.

A brief loan would be most appreciated.

Thanks!

Saturday early?

I am not quite decided on this yet, but thought I'd float the idea of resurrecting a 6a.m. ride of ye olde peninsula route this Saturday. Weather looks to be decent (if a tad chilly to start). If anyone's contemplating the same, post here and just maybe a critical mass will assemble. Usual routine -...

Re: 12 minute warm weather riding reminder

Very cool looking trip, Mikael! I will admit, trudging on foot up a steep and sandy road is not too enticing, but I trust you were redeemed at the summit and I sure do envy the opportunity to pedal bikes in a beautiful, sunny foreign land. I'd love to hear more over coffee one day.

Re: CHRISTMAS CARD GENIUS!

Definitely a great idea and nice gesture. Kudos to Mikael for taking the initiative and getting that done and out the door so quickly! If it's going to be an annual thing (support!), I wonder if Fozzy would be willing to let us use his cool bike art some time... Also, p.s. Steve Lund took the sunny ...

Re: Saturday Dec 29, early and wet

forecast shows slight improvement. I am in 6am cook st starbucks. We really can't call it a sufferfest ride if it was sunny and warm now could we. It's no accident that I omitted that old ride title. Please be gentle with me. I'm in "winter riding" mode. All I'm after tomorrow is warmth and sensele...

Saturday Dec 29, early and wet

I work at noon tomorrow and if I'm to get in enough riding to make even a feeble attempt at a F500 completion, it'll need to be done early. I'm soliciting expressions of interest so I can assure Steve it'll be nothing but sh*ts and giggles if we go for it.

Some impressive redline coverage of BHP indeed! Nice work, muddy buddies. And, wow, the roadie turnout was exceptional! Lund may wish to correct me (being one who actually took the effort to enumerate us all) but I heard the body count was 34 at peak. That's more than this year's summer silliness an...

When in a snarky mood my Alanbot would say: Buy a bike. Ride the bike. Don't overthink this.
Why all the unnecessary words, Alanbot?
