Of possible interest - return to play for athletes after Covid-19

I get a lot of email clutter, particularly from sources that apparently can't distinguish a PhD from an MD. Usually I just hit delete but this headline caught my eye and I thought it might be of interest to some of us cycling types. The "real" docs can weigh on the concerns raised in this paper. htt...

Re: Gravel ride "with friends" (but actually solo)

Am I the only one who is intimidated by the idea of striking forth on possibly unknown trails in the bush solo? Perhaps it is my wild imagination but I think of carnivores, mechanicals and getting hopelessly lost.... Maybe we could form some socially distanced "teams" for these route challenges. And...

Re: Solo rides

Thanks Ben. I watched the updates yesterday and noticed that Dr. Henry used "family members" and "close friends" in the same sentence. It is almost like she is afraid to be too strong maybe? She leaves that door a little bit open.... I was actually waiting for a reporter to jump on it in a post-pres...

Re: Solo rides

I realize I've shifted this thread a bit since it is really about "solo rides." I think cycling BC is being really clear and I think we are all doing the right thing. I just welcome comments from all the smart and diverse perspectives in our TS cycling hive mind.

Re: Solo rides

I appreciate cycling BC’s clear stance on this. What I don’t get is how to integrate this 50 person piece into my daily life and would love to know how others interpret it. Maybe I’m being a bit thick here but it doesn’t jive with all the other govt messaging. So as long as we stand 2 m apart, 49 of...

Re: Solo rides

Rolf - Sure, I can elaborate. We are being told to only spend time with the people in our household but I don't know anyone with a household approaching 50 people so I'm wondering what is the point of that directive? I think it undermines and confuses the message to only spend time with people that ...

Re: Solo rides

On the topic of what we should and shouldn't be doing, I'm finding the mixed messaging a bit frustrating. Can someone make sense of the "no gatherings of more than 50 people" and the "stay with people in your immediate household and stay 6 feet apart out of doors?" Am I missing something here? Here ...

Re: March 14 - Big Terra Nova Clockwise Loop

Ok Ron. Since it is going to be so cold, should I aim for 730 instead. Or split the difference and be there for 725.....Any other SBers?

Treats. Don’t forget treats.

Who is bringing the frothy milk? Somebody has gotta have one of those little battery operated spinner things?

Re: Friday, March 6 - Off-Road Bicycle Ride

Looks like a number of possible approaches. Don’t feel tied to Shelbourne to meet up with us. If we make it we will head to OBH. Or we might just head north.

Re: Friday, March 6 - Off-Road Bicycle Ride

Rolf I can't see your links. I love the idea of shelbourne to bow trail. Gets me an extra 30 minutes of sleep, which this week is REALLY needed. Considerably increases the likelihood I'll get out tomorrow :D

Re: March 14 - Big Terra Nova Clockwise Loop

Ron already knows this but just for everyone's purposes, I can't do the 15th since I'll be on my way up to the ski hill. It's the 14th or nothing for me so hoping we can stick to the original plan since I am 100% in for that day.
