Wednesday, September 18 - FarmSauce

Time to get wet and have some fun in the rain! I think I’ve found a produce bag that will keep my Tensor™️ bandages dry. Must shop soon for large rubber gloves; unless... JT? Got any left over? Classic route up Shelby behind the roadies, an abbreviated treatment of Pkols, Bow Park, the full Cedar Hi...

Re: Olympic Discovery Trail - September 28-29

Dear Johnny: a few questions. :?: Does the fact this gravel ride is now posted in the roadie sub-forum mean we’re headed up Hurricane instead, festooned with power meters and HR straps? :?: Does it mean sleeping arrangements will now be about holding one’s line while staring at the bum in front of y...

Cumberland and Union

A lot of our routes north to Lochside pass through the intersection at Cumberland and Union where an unfortunate motorcyclist lost his life today . Heading north on Cumberland, we're often clipping along because of the descent from Playfair Park. Union is the first stop-sign we encounter. Visi...

Re: Funday Sunday 15 Sep

Here's an idea, Gregor. If we keep moving smartly, and skip a few of the crinkles around Thetis, Bear Mtn. and Rowntree, we would still be back in town by 10:30 for eggs and coffee.

Up. And in!

Wish list:
  • View Royal pump track;
  • breakfast after; and
  • home by 11:30.

As for this nonsense: BOSH, I say! You've created something golden here, Ron.

Re: Friday, Sep 13 - Ambassadors Ride

It was a treat to follow the whims of others! It was exciting to try Dave's BHP rock-roll. If I hadn't been fully awake by then, I surely was at the bottom of it! And thank you, Dolly, for sharing a fun route through Oak Bay and the Saanich panhandle! Doing that little bit of planning in adv...

A toupée seat seems like a pretty weird idea, Paula. But I found one for you on Etsy:

Re: Friday, Sep 13 - Ambassadors Ride

Hey Ron, not a ton of pickup on here. There are plenty of usual crossers who don't linger on the forum quite as much as we do, and who will likely assume the usual Friday OBHS start. Shall we stick to the usual meetup plan? (Café Misto would only be just around the corner, anyway.) As for rou...

Re: Tuesday, September 10 - Catching the B Train to UVic

Thanks, DD. A few quick thoughts: Despite the opprobrium we experienced today, Saanich's Parks Management and Control Bylaw endorses our route through CHGC this morning as entirely acceptable for cyclists. Of course, this doesn't mean we shouldn't always watch our speed, take corners with control so...

Tuesday, September 10 - Catching the B Train to UVic

I'm riding Tuesday instead of Wednesday this week as I'm away overnight for work. Plus Cross Club on Wednesday night mean some folks may want to save their cross legs that morning. Thinking if we're not a large group, we could jump onto a B train and ride it half-way round the box before heading off...

Re: COTR #1 - Coal Cross - Photos

Every race needs David D. in the final corners, shooting video and his mouth! I'm sure Wonger, Lister, Dylan, Neil, Roland, and (especially) your kids appreciated it. Love the hilarious running start clips too; even the little ones are banging each other around, looking for their bikes in the mayhem...

Of course I miss you, darling—every time I swat a mosquito or pop a pimple. As for Alan, I’ve been keeping a close eye on him all morning: https://photos.smugmug.com/Public-Photos/i-CjVHWfJ/0/6bd0e9a4/L/IMG_0114-L.jpg If you want to know what tune he’s picking out, here’s a clip: https://youtu.be/tQ...
