Re: Friday, July 19 - Destination negotiable

Sorry, Ron. With great timidity, I'm going to try the road again tomorrow.

Thursday, July 18: Destinations unknown

Please join me on a playful yet frisky crossride tomorrow morning. I need to work off the disappointment of my Fondo* last Sunday. I will be leaving Pure Vanilla at Estevan and Cadboro Bay Road at 6:05 am to destinations unknown but back to PV for coffee with the TTT'ers at 7:20 am. In training for ...

I am sorry to hear that, Ron. I hope and trust that a cracked helmet was the very worst of it.

I didn't get to see enough of the area to be certain (ride cut short due to injury).
I hope you're alright, Ron. Please send pics --- of the injury.

No worries John, everyone makes it back, I’ll even buy him a coffee. 😎. You should join us.
Thanks, Steve, but I'm tapering now for the Penticton Gran Fondo. Alan, BTW, is one of toughest SOB's I know. I'm sure he'll make it back no probs, and more than ready to drink free coffee.

Re: Saturday sufferfest

Hi Alan. We usually cover 100-120km, with hills on the back end of the ride. It’s A-2 pace, so the level of suffering is relative to each individual. Steve: Please take care of my good friend Alan. I don't want to see him coming back to town like this, http://media.giphy.com/media/1Pq6EZxEQ7sbu/gip...

Friday, July 5: MRGA

MRGA = Make Rolf Great Again. Don't tell Rolf I said so, but with all of his off time and potato chips, he has developed quite the paunch (whoa!). I think the following route is just what he needs, without having to swap into his cross tires. And Ron, some trail and no Mt. Doug. 1. At 25 km/hr we wi...

Enjoyable but slow. When I arrived at PV the roadies were into their coffees and not in the mood to watch my celebratory dance,

Thursday, July 4: PV to PV

Please meet me at PV (Estevan Ave and Caddy Road) with your crossbike at 5:25 am for a rip up Tolmie, Mount Doug (twice), Observatory, Colquitz Trail, Cedar Hill Golf Course (clockwise loop) to PV for coffee with the roadies. If we beat the roadies to PV, we can give ourselves big pats on our backs....

1. Bring lots of water.
2. Wear your best chamois. Its a lot of bouncing without suspension, smooth and buff trail or not.
3. Bring bear spray. We did see cougar scat.
4. When reaching for your iPhone, never put a banana in your mouth when Fargang is around.

Re: Olympic Adventure Trail: Ride Report

Thank you for organizing one of the best riding days I've ever had, Ron! The drinks and eats at the Port Angeles biker bar after the ride was the perfect end to a perfect day. Thank you too, for the workmanly ride report, although we do like a little more spice here on the TS CX subforum. For exampl...

Re: Selection of men's jerseys M/L

JT, I think Greg is right. They fit a slightly burlier fellow than you, so unless you have mad tailoring skills, you are probably not the right market for these. Dear Claire and Greg, thank you for your honesty, you're the best. As for me, I'm headed to the gym to try and be just like Steve, http:/...

Hi Ron, I'm sure by now that Louise will have calmly reasoned with Greg, http://media.giphy.com/media/xUPGcx3LBi2HK1V0Ig/giphy.gif As for me, the Olympic Adventure Trail is looking more and more interesting. As long as the weather isn't too threatening, I'm probably, maybe, for sure, a possible go. ...

Re: Air compressor for bike tires?

Thanks, Rob. What brand of compressor do you have, and is the inflator something that comes separately? And, Alan, thanks for the offer but I think I'll take a pass. When it comes to mechanical things like inflating tires, your track record speaks for itself, http://media.giphy.com/media/1ZyiQHv5RUO...
