Re: Pickle Juice!

So I rode the Victoria Fondo today. The organization and support for the ride from the wheelers and others is top notch and I have a few ideas for the big loop ride on July 17. My ride was good. I managed to hook up with a couple of groups, which does not always happen for me, and finished a half ho...

Re: Giro Sardegna 2017

Life changing may be an overly enthusiastic description. I have finished three giros and I was only slightly faster for a month or so after I got back. :?

[quote]Tonino: "probably it will be in the north (santa teresa or cannigione). if we decide for the south, maybe it will be costa rei (but it's very difficult to go there because of the distance!)/quote] If the giro is in the north I would be interested. My black jerseys are getting old and I think ...

Hero 3+ black edition, Small frameset, Prologo

For sale or trade: Seldom used GoPro Hero 3+, black edition with 2 video cards and extra mounting frame in addition to the regular GoPro bundle, $275 or trade for a small frameset (51 or 52) for Nancy. I also have a nearly new Prologo Nago Evo Pas Tirox saddle (134 cm wide semi -round), $75.

Re: Haute route report

The finale: beware salsiccia. Woke up at midnight with a bloated stomach, proceeded to the washroom seven times, with diarrea and vomiting, got an hour of sleep at 4:30 before the 5:30 breakfast call. Best breakfast spread of the week by far and all I could eat was a glass of milk and a few tablespo...

Re: Haute route report

Two more days done. It is all becoming a blur. Up at 5:30, ride at 7, climb 3500 meters, over 150kms, have a shower, massage and a meal. Find the hotel. Have another meal. Get ready for the next day.. Even with the support team pro riders have I have a new appreciation for what they go through. Yest...

Re: Haute route report

Thanks for the encouragement. Tripleshot is the best. The forecast last night was for heavy rain and snow above 2200 meters so the organizers cancelled the Stelvio. Very disappointing. This morning it dawned cold and wet and you could see snow higher up but just as we started the rain stopped and th...

Haute route report

Well, wow, this is a challenge although sipping a beer in the St. Moritz youth hostel is not too hard and neither is the scenery. I trained into Geneva on Sunday at 1:00 and was set up by 3 when I found out that the bunker, as in a nuclear fallout shelter, I was staying in closed at 4 before opening...

Re: Is Cycling Killing Us?

As person who experiences SVT, rapid heart rate from time to time I have a theory, all parts wear out eventually, especially British designed electrical systems or as the Yogis say a heart only has a fixed number of beats in one lifetime. So 10 hours a week of cycling will generate 10 hours x 60 min...

Re: TSC Sponsored Hurricane Ridge Ride, Aug 16

Barton: I signed up online on Wednesday evening because 9 Hurricane Ridge ascents in one year is not enough. As far as I know, the list should be as follows but when I signed up I think the store indicated I was the eleventh participant so there might be 2 or 3 missing from the list depending on whe...

Swimming? Why not do both? Big loop ride and swimming. Bring a suit and towel, jump in Lake Cowichan. There are change rooms where we stop for refreshments.

The bagels with cream cheese and lox also went down very well last year and will be supplied again. There should be enough food for everyone and any food you bring will be supplemental and designed for your own preferences.
