Re: Aggressively fast cyclist wins race against no one

I've long maintained that the cops should bring a speed gun out on the Goose some morning or afternoon. I'm sure they'd nab a large number of people (including some in TSC kit) who think that their daily commute along a multi-use trail is actually a time-trial practice.

Re: Anyone interested in racing as a team this year?

Well said Martin! The idea has definitely been floated several times in recent years (John Taylor comes to mind), and so it would be great to see something actually come of it this time around. >If you want to race with the fastest guys in town, this might not be your cup of tea. Correction - you ca...

Re: Sunday Earlier Slower Longer!

The weather looks cool but dry for tomorrow morning. Anyone up for a 85-90km counter-clockwise version of the traditional peninsula loop, leaving Uptown Bucky's at 7:00am? C+ pace, as per usual.

As Barton is away this weekend, we will avoid hills wherever possible.

Re: Sunday Earlier Slower Longer!

The weather for tomorrow morning is looking pretty shitty right now. So unless it changes significantly overnight, I don't think I'll be out.

Am I the only one who laughed out loud at the double entendre embedded (intentional or otherwise) in the first half of the subject line for this post?

Re: 2018 Tripleshot Christmas Party - Save the Date!

Wikipedia defines a Potluck as a "communal gathering where each guest or group contributes a different, often homemade dish of food to be shared." Sounds yummy, right? Well, at present, only about 20 people have signed up to bring food. The Tripleshot Xmas party typically draws 80+ people. So, unles...

For sale: SealSkinz Halo Neoprene overshoes

Just took delivery of a pair of these SealSkinz neoprene overshoes with kevlar reinforced toes. I bought them for commuting - partly because of the neat little red LED light in each of the heels. Size Large is advertised to fit sizes EU 43-46, but there's no way they'll fit my 46 Shimano shoes. Woul...

Looking to borrow a trainer

Hi there...

Looking to borrow a trainer - just for a week or two. Michaella is thinking of buying one to use over the winter, but would like to try one out first just to see whether she likes using it.

Email me at dower@uvic.ca if you would be willing to loan one to me.

Thanks,
J.

Apparently I'm not slim. 3 items I ordered do not fit much to my frustration. No offence Rob, but did you take advantage of the opportunity to check out the sizing at the session that the club set up with Jackroo prior this order? I must admit that I did not - then again I've never held any illusio...

Re: 4 TS youth alumnae announced for Red Truck

Congrats to the youth alumni, but also a huge congrats to Lister and the rest of our fabulous youth program coaches! While it's hard to see people leave, the success of our youth alumni also speaks volumes about the quality of the coaching that they've benefited from up to now.

Bravo!

Re: Tripleshot Race Tent and Tripleshot Kit

I love that this Club tends to have a big-tent mentality and welcomes virtually all comers on two wheels. I also think buying and wearing our awesome kit is good, whenever possible—and especially at any race we expect to be supported by the Club at. Amen, Brother Warburton. [Congrats on post 1000, ...

I know, I know - that's not Mandy and that's not Geoff, but what are the odds of finding a photo of a beer fairy handing a beer to #38 in a cycling event?

Re: Tripleshot Race Tent and Tripleshot Kit

Well said Martin! For what it's worth, I can't imagine anyone being denied entrance to the TSC tent just because they're wearing another club/team's kit. As others have noted, exclusion just ain't the Tripleshot way (although I would question why anyone would join a club/team that can't provide basi...

Re: New Kit Order: Fall 2018

Due to popular demand (or persistent whining on my part - take your pick), Jackroo have added a "real" winter jacket option to the kit order: http://shop.jakroo.ca/Storefront-Canada/Tripleshot-Cycling-Club-2018/MAGI-126486-SIDEWINDER-1 . Note that the $206 price doesn't include the 25% club discount...

Re: Crap Flaps Available!

I have four sets of TSC crap-flaps. I seem to recall they went for $16 per pair when we ordered them. They look like this: TSC Crap Flap.jpg The following four members get first dibs as they have already expressed an interest: Rob Duncan, Mark Andreassen, Louise Fennell and Anne Franklin.
