Re: Big Loop Ride July 15th ... details please

Fantastic ride today, definitely one of the most memorable. Huge thanks to Neil for organizing and the collective “Road Angels” ie Fozzy Family, Steve W. and James B. who tirelessly provided food, drink and moral support along the entire route. I doubt anyone would have survived or at the very least...

Hi folks,

Being last minute flakey after a week of vacation and not feeling up to it. Have fun!
After a busy week in Tofino I’m ready to hit the open road again. Sorry to hear both you and Justine are not going to make it.

Re: Olympic Discovery Trail Experiences?

Hi Steve,

I had a quick look on their Facebook page photos and it looks very similar to our own bike trails, paved, packed gravel and packed dirt. I'd call up a local shop or post a question to the FB page. Route and trails look great though.

Re: Hurricane Ridge July 1st

I'll plan to be there as well. Garth mentioned this mornings of a possible double ascent plan (fast run then a measured one). I'd love to complete one climb, nice rest at the top and smash the descent really fast. We could easily accommodate both by regrouping at the top before heading down as a col...

Re: Summer solstice

Many thanks to all that participated and braving the early start time. Big shout out to both Chris and Claire for providing a bit of sustenance for the ride although I should have known better to inhale a cookie (delicious) while taking a pull on the front.

Re: Summer solstice

I have to be back early Sunday morning so anyone who wants to start at the real crack of dawn can join at 430am. Early yes but in past years favourable weather (forecasted like this year) has made for a spectacular sunrise.

Re: Crash on the Sunday ride

Perhaps a single file orientation much like West Saanich Rd could be used. Only when clear and safe does the front rider drop back and rarely to the end just a few positions down. I also like the idea of designated lead riders through the more hazardous sections as the Sunday ride should be kept as ...

Re: 3 Ferries Ride May 27

Perhaps we can head towards the 8:40am BW/MB ferry and if it's not running simply head up the peninsula to get on the Saltspring ferry.

I'm guessing more sailings on the way back from Saltspring than Mill Bay?

I'd second an early and known Brentwood/Mill Bay crossing time. One vote for a clockwise route.

Re: TBT at the TTTs

What a great idea to resurrect classic jerseys from years past. I'd love to rock the early 90's motif or just for once wear in pride my one and only wool version. Who could forget this icon of racing on the bottom attachment?

Re: Kit Design Ideas - WE NEED YOU!!!!

Hi Neil. Your designs are looking better and better, especially the shoulders/upper back argyle portion that doesn't dominate the overall look. I'm wondering if you could do the last version with a full light 'bib' as with the first argyle/orange that extended up to the collar. I felt it has a smoot...

Re: Kit Design Ideas - WE NEED YOU!!!!

Imagine something in neon pink (or swap for neon green) for viz. Need something so we're seen a dark o'clock in the morning. That pink/purple argyle looks nice, great work. Hi-viz neon might be difficult to see the argyle pattern as well as the the pink version. I've included a reference from the c...

Softer "pepto pink" version courtesy of MS paint. Neil - I'm a sprinter at heart so its just for the aesthetic.
