Thanks for the post, re: New Yorker article. Akin to an unbelievable narrative depicting an onion being peeled in slow motion, ever stinkier as the layers get removed.

Re: TTT Thurs - Road Conditions for Feb 16

Geoff - It was the least I could do to help after being promptly dropped from the surprisingly fast 3rd group on the road. Glad you could swing by, it was getting cooler by the minute out there.

Re: Festive 500 thread

How about a quick 50-60km, meeting up really early on Christmas morning? I would like to wrap up around 7:30am so a 6am or earlier starting time would be fantastic. I'll probably go out solo if no takers but a flat tempo route preferred. Cheers

Re: Ridiculous rings to rejoice in the return of the radianc

So you're planning on 100+ miles at an estimated high of 3C the day before Christmas? Looks like there also might be snow but anything to get out there right? I'm still reminiscing over an awkwardly planned Christmas Day ride, http://www.tripleshotcycling.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=6217. I might...

Re: Not crash-related (though, perhaps crash-preventative)

Kenji's attachment and the chart contained therein is geeky and I like it. However, it contradicts the advice above which recommended a rider of my mass run 85-90# by indicating I should be running 110lbs for my weight and tires of choice. Geekiness is good. Contradictions are annoying. Not-free Co...

Re: Not crash-related (though, perhaps crash-preventative)

Just be aware that the 28mm Conti 4000 are closer to 30mm actual width. Mine are 31+ on wide rims. If your current brakes have a ton of room maybe otherwise grab the 25mm and run them on the low side pressure wise. This is a great reference article with a pressure chart used as a starting point on w...

Re: Tour de Victoria

Great work to everyone who participated today. Steve, Garth and Claire kicked butt and won their respective age groups. Brad Z also rode very strong. My ride was fantastic for the first 70km until the lights went out and I had to limp to the line for the most part solo. The ride was also notable for...

Re: Tour de Victoria

Yup. Perhaps a few more to join. We have been meeting really early (5:30-6:00am) on the day at the SB in James Bay. The topic was mentioned earlier this year, viewtopic.php?f=19&t=6523.

Re: TS Tuesday B1 /A2

Perhaps he thought you had enough horsepower or fitness to do a double pull. My laps only ride (had to head home early) was punctuated with several people doing double or near double pulls to keep the ride together and minimize gaps. Probably you could have pulled shorter on the first effort at leas...

Re: July 24 Vancouver Triple Crown

Thanks for posting Kevin about the early roll out. Travel time is usually very fast at that time of day depending on how your on the bike speed converts to personal driving speed. Weekend and summer traffic might slow things down however including getting processed as a walk on passenger. 4:45am rol...

Re: July 24 Vancouver Triple Crown

Not too bad to get the 6:20am ferry by leaving Victoria at 5:00am sharp. We just need to get everyone coordinated in advance with the various cars/riders if car pooling together. I would gladly assist with cash for gas and parking (also payable with beer credit). I could even ride to the meeting poi...

Re: Musings about riding the Goose on Sunday morning

Excellent points noted John. I've had or witnessed more close calls and crashes along the Goose then any other section of road x 10. Sunday morning is also one of the busiest times to be rolling through double wide as a big group. As a club can we justify a lead electric moto to clear a path?

Re: July 24 Vancouver Triple Crown

Thanks Barton!!! Looks fantastic but it will be quite the ride and a long day on the road. Very excited despite the 4400m/14500ft of climbing in less than a 100 miles.
