Re: Wednesday, May 15 - FarmCross

Where are ya going? I am going to be out test riding my 15 year old mt bike to make sure it is shifting well enough to earn itself a trip to Hornby. I have very limited time but will join you guys if the locale/timing works.

Re: Mothers Day Cross Ride- Fun in the Forest!

The route looks great Ron! I love those bear mountain trails. I think this ride will be pretty technical so might impact get back to town time, just fyi for people who might have tight timelines. I'm a bit non-committal at the moment since I haven't fully consulted on my Mother's day options but I'l...

TTT - Safety protocol?

What a beautiful morning for the TTT today. I love this ride and wish I could get there more often. Today we had a situation (that was safely handled and didn't become a real issue at all) but I personally would like to know what to do in future similar situations. The group I was in was beginning t...

Re: Wednesday, May 8 - Quicks Bottom

Ron, Not sure if you realize but Sunday is mother's day. If for some reason, you are free since you have already arranged pampering of your children's mother on Sunday morning, I would love a mother's day ride (and be suitably impressed). But I am guessing it might be just the girls who can play on ...

Re: Friday, April 26 - Hidden Paths

Kind of off topic, kind of on topic but this morning I was walking my kids to school using one of these such passage-ways in my neighborhood. We walk up my neighbor's driveway (feels kind of awkward) but at the end there is a clear pass-through where there used to be a fence but when the new owners ...

Re: Sunday, April 21st Cross Ride - EASTER BRUNCH EDITION

Ron, We will be joined by two friends of mine - Rob and Graham. Both did the cross fondo. Rob was not impressed so tmrw is our chance to prove to him that CX IS fun. Graham knows hartland like the back of his hand. We'll be in good hands, at least until we pop out somewhere on munn's. At which point...

Re: Sunday, April 21st Cross Ride - EASTER BRUNCH EDITION

Sounds good Ron. Going into Mt. Work from where you suggest means some grunty climbing on the regional trail but we can come down on the new skull trail which is fantastic, then back in on upper shock treatment to 2nd Ave- Kokanee Hwy - Two trees, also fun and challenging by CX bike. Then I think we...

Re: Sunday, April 21st Cross Ride

Hi Ron, the kids seem ok with my afternoon departure. They'll be in a chocolate coma by then anyway. I know a few of the CX friendly trails at the dump but I'll need to consult with someone with better navigational skills to get us through the Hartland to Thetis bit. Maybe we can bring Rolf by earpi...

Re: Sunday, April 14th Cross Ride

I also need some time to adjust to the new Sunday formation. At times I felt the pace was high enough that a regular pace line would have suited me better - less time gasping at the front. I did get to chat with more people than usual, which was nice. But the downside was definitely "....oh yeah? me...

We're having a bunny health emergency necessitating a late night trip to the emerg vet. If I'm not at the switch at 730, you'll know it wasn't a good outcome. Fingers crossed. I'll post here in the morning if I'm not coming.

Hi Ron, I'm still in, weather cooperating but am beginning to feel a bit nervous...I assume you have all the mapping and GPS etc covered? Since I had no idea where exactly we are going I looked and found this if you haven't already seen it, linked to a garmin connect track of terra nova trail. https...

Re: April 7th - Big Ride to Harbour View

I hate to disagree with a climate scientist, but I'm seeing the weather as low chance of rain and cloudy with much lower winds than today (gov weather website). The weather network shows sun and clouds for Sooke for tmrw. Why don't we wait until a little later in the day when the predictive accuracy...
