Re: Crossing Sunday Feb 24rd

Was just about to post and see if anyone was venturing out. I am almost considering the road bike after my recent experiences on the CX bike in ice and slush. Seems most trails that are not under the tree canopy are still an icy/sloppy/slushy mess. I like working on my bike handling/skid control ski...

Re: Looking to for input on and to borrow a set of rollers for a week.

Before my rollers broke and I lost all will and desire to ever ride inside (and therefore fix them), I loved my rollers and used them over the trainer during my time in winter climates. True there is a very steep learning curve, even changing gears or taking a sip of water is tough for awhile. Be pr...

Sunday ride plans?

Hey Folks, Does anyone have thoughts about how the Sunday ride might go tomorrow? From seeing posts on strava it is looking like a ride up the Peninsula isn't going to be possible. Any thoughts about a later start and a shorter route? What did we do to deserve this yucky riding weather? Karma for th...

Good plan. I'll be there - Assuming there isn't ice everywhere. Assuming the DRLR on my vintage SC Blur stays intact.

You know what they say about assume-ing....

Re: Wednesday, February 13 - Snow Farming

I'm guessing this will not be the usual FCX route, heading up Shelbourne to Mt. Doug; you'll be staying South?

Yeah, I think it is dependent on how his mediation in Vancouver goes today and so far no word so I'm thinking maybe not....

Any farmcrossers tmrw?

I know it is usually Rolf who calls the FCX rides but I think he is out of town tonight and an unknown for tmrw morning. I am planning on riding and will gladly meet anyone who is up for it at Feltham and Shelbourne at 620 for a rip through the usual FCX routes (and then some). I know it's cold but ...

Re: BHP adventure Tuesday?

I rode a little bit tonight (road/cross) in about -4 and I have to say the conditions were fantastic. The roads were dry as a bone and the trails were crunchy and grippy. Sounds like it'll be a fun ride in great conditions so long as you keep moving!

Have fun!

Okay. See you at the switch at 7.

I knew Rolf would come through with a visual and little babble (I'm feeling the irony here though).....we can continue negotiations at 0 700.

Re: Sunday, January 27

Ugh, Ron. If you get us starting at 6 am, you're buying coffee (and a chai latte). Sunday IS a day of rest. So, will these trails be worth the 3 hrs of commuting time? Not sure what you have in mind but I expect that Rolf is using All Trails and Skitch as we speak to post some brilliantly sketched o...

Yeah I figured as much. So the illusion of solitude and simplicity is just that....an illusion.

But Deb is the woman to ask about real life light packing! Awesome.

Re: Rabbie Burns Day - Hebrides Gravel Bikepacking

Incredible, amazing, motivating, inspiring. Thanks for sharing Rolf (and expanding my vocabulary as always). I'm calling a bit of false advertising though? you think? How on earth did she pack that light? Where is her sleeping bag? What did she eat? From what I could see she had a tent and maybe I c...

Re: Friday, January 11 - Running Elk Double

I'll plan to join you so long as I can kick this cold by then. I may meet you at Lochside and Blenkinsop greenway intersection though - you think you'd be there by 6 am? Given the Panama Flats flooding, what about taking Elk Lake all the way to Sayward and coming back through Cordova Bay -upper trai...

I'll join you guys but I'll wait at the switch for Todd, Ron and anyone else who decides to brave the weather. 7:50 guys? Is that about right? I'm not sure who'll take navigational leadership.....we might get lost. Sorry to hear you're still ill Rolf. Gell well soon. I can't take too many more snot-...
