BC Bike Race

Some of you are aware that Mandy and I took part in the BC Bike Race last week, and even though there is a dearth of dual-suspended, dropper-posted, fat-tired chit-chat in this venue, I can’t resist telling some of our adventure. If stories of riding bikes off-road in baggy shorts offends your sensi...

Bike Computer to Borrow

Does anyone have a Garmin or similar computer they could loan for a week? We are heading out tomorrow to do the BC Bike Race and Mandy would like to have a way of seeing mileage in real time on the handle bars. Please let me know if you can help. Thanks!

Sunday June 24th

I'm planning to ride to Island View with the regular Sunday crew tomorrow, but I'll be heading out to Sidney and Land's End Road after that, maybe Willis Point, Ross-Durrance etc. on the way home. Moderate, steady effort. Company would be awesome!

Re: Hour of Power - results / records

Andrew I am eager to join for an early start, but the fact that you posted this under Hour of Power gives me pause...

If you are out there to break records I will content myself with an early meander through the leafy streets of Oak Bay before joining the gang for circles.

Re: Starting the list for the next Great Trail Adventure

Hey Greg - I would recommend going clockwise for a couple reasons. One, the climb out of Shawnigan up to the top of Goldstream Heights is really nasty. Not bad going down, but going up is a female dog. Two, probably the best part of the day was the beer and pizza break in Cobble Hill. Having the bul...

Re: Crash on the Sunday ride

Eric! Thanks Martin. I was thinking the same thing - there are always stronger riders in the mix on the Sunday ride. Putting two or three or four at the front and a doorman behind them and stringing out single file might be the best approach to that section. I'm certainly willing to try it. The diff...

Crash on the Sunday ride

I thought it important to post about the crash on the Sunday ride yesterday. It took place on the narrow stretch of Wallace Drive just before Heals Rifle Range. I confess I do not know the name of the person who caused the crash, but Lois was the other person to hit the pavement when she ran into hi...
