Re: Sunday Cx

Hartland has rideable trails, once you get in... Basically anything that had a little water normally had a tonne more. Today's (Saturday's) plan of circumnavigating Hartland via the regional access trail and Cory access will probably work. But it might incur some head scratching to get around lakes....

Re: Tugwell Main smooth or bumpy?

Hey JT, Sunday morning is looking good now too. I plan to go Sunday, but since I couldn't (shame: didn't) ride this week I feel overdue for a ride and will take advantage of my son's cancelled soccer game on Saturday afternoon. Which is... Colquitz approach to Hartland where I will head north on the...

Re: Tugwell Main smooth or bumpy?

That looks like a good ride Markus, and similar to a ride Andy B was thinking of doing (correct me if I am wrong Andy). When are you thinking of doing this? This Sunday might not be best for me (I plan to ride Saturday afternoon while there is patch of dry weather in the forecast), but I could do th...

Re: bikepacking article on a gravel ride here.

Thanks for sharing Rob. If we cross paths with Miles one day, we can give him pointers on making that route even more fun!

P.S. here's an oddly mesmerising and relaxing video of someone assembling a gravel bike: https://youtu.be/FVIX6pSxBV0

I'm signed up!

Thanks for the ringing endorsement Magnus; and the suggestion to go medio in case of inclement weather! Since they are all the sane price that seems like good advice.

Re: Tugwell Main smooth or bumpy?

I was just about to post, "I'm in," but then thought I should have a clue what you are talking about. You know the backroads better than me, but I did come across this blog post that makes it seem rideable: https://donsadventurerides.wordpress.com/dons-adventure-ride-12-tugwell-lake-dirt-bike-sooke-...

Yes, carpooling sounds like a good idea. I believe Rob and Andy both have some capacity.

I'll buy my ticket and report back!

Re: Sunday epic?

Sunday could work. Really depends on weather (still horrible, nauseating rain) and double confirming my wife is okay with an extended ride that day. I'll give you more definite answer closer to Sunday.

How is the snow at the higher elevations?

Re: May 2 - Ride for Water - Chilliwack

Thanks for the valuable insight Scott. I don't really have a "race" mentality when I ride so it sounds like this event will be a good fit. I could be talked into the Epic if that's what everyone is doing but I will definitely make this an "enjoy the scenery" kinda ride (no drop?). I'll need subsatnt...
