Re: Monday the 5th - CX

Maybe. Depends on how I feel after Sunday's ride and how amenable my wife is.

UPDATE: Monday will be a saddle free day. I'm beat!

Re: Sunday, Aug 4th - Abbr. Great Trail

We should add a TMB;DR (too much banter; didn't read) section to the top of every thread with just the pertinent information for all the TSCX Robs out there. 😉

I'll be there at 6:30 am, together with an idea for a little excursion at the top of the Great Trail to the West.
Ooooh, titillating!

Re: Reprise of the Olympic Adventure Trail ride

I'm there in spirit, but before I give you the customary, "I'm in," can you post the proposed route? If I recall, the big loop ride is about 280km, which, as a cross ride would be insane for a single day... Not that I'm calling names...

Re: Reprise of the Olympic Adventure Trail ride

As I sit on the warm beach, gazing upon the the turtles and contemplating this ride, I'm struck by Greg's profound desire to sleep beneath propane tanks. This overnighter ride would be an excellent opportunity Greg, but perhaps not as easily embraced by the rest of the troop. Perhaps by keeping this...

Re: VI Spine Trail to Port Alberni

Greg, thanks fo sharing Ted's experience. Good to know it is doable. I am a little less enthusiastic now that I know the logging road is the only option to get to Port Alberni. If the Tuck Trail and Runners Trail were cyclable it would make an amazing route. JT - that sounds like my kinda camping! T...

VI Spine Trail to Port Alberni

I've been spending evenings pouring over maps again (always dangerous) and it looks like the VI Spine Trail is rideable between Cowichan Lake and Port Alberni!! Maps can be found here: https://vi-trail.ca/map/ This could be tackled as multi-day bikepacking adventure (2 nights, 3 days) as follows: 1)...

Ill suited? It's called underbiking. Kinda like if you could drive to work in a gas-powered go-cart with the pin removed.

I'm really curious about Mill Hill as this could make a nice connector into Hatley Castle. How verboten is it?
