Re: Sunday Feb 23 (shorter)

I'm a very tentative maybe (sorry - my cycling will just have to fit into tiny nooks and crannies). Early and short work for me though. Sorry, Claire, I have to bail even with this great fear of missing out weighing me down. The rather large dent in my seat stay is telling me I shouldn't ride the b...

Rob's got you covered L3! Just bring some tea bags and fresh lemon. Cucumber and cream cheese sandwiches without the crust are a must!

Re: March 14 - Big Terra Nova Clockwise Loop

I just updated the main post with a ride proposal. I would definitely plan for an all-day adventure regardless of how long we spend faffing about at the lakes.

Ron. I have ya covered for coffee. I’ll bring a stove and espresso maker and a cup or two to share.
That's awesome Rob. Will we get enough throughput? If anybody else has another stove and coffee maker perhaps we can bring two.

Re: March 14 - Big Terra Nova Clockwise Loop

I never joke about coffee Mashby. The trick will be in implementation. Here's an idea: 1) Heat: Bring a light weight stove and kettle to boil water (hint: I don't have one; back-up plan is to make a wood fire) 2) Water: I think if we all bring one extra bottle of water to contribute to coffee, we'll...

Yes! And some coffee making supplies! I think this route accommodates faux-bikepacking nicely.

March 14 - Big Terra Nova Clockwise Loop CANCELLED

Posting this early so folks that are interested in a bigger ride can free themselves up. Also, since I'll be riding much less over the next three weeks (while single parenting) it gives me something to look forward to :D The idea is to ride the goose out to Sea to Sea Regional Park in Sooke, explore...

Sunday, Feb 16th - Double Chamois Ride

Weather looks dry Sunday morning! And is it just me, or has TrailForks been updated to show more blue trails in Thetis? This needs to be explored!! I propose a Colquitz approach to Interurban, using Hector Connector to get to Francis King and then Westoby to access some new trails in Thetis: Double ...

I won't be there Claire. My Valentine looked at me wondering what was more important this Friday morning. Biking with you lot or heading out for an early, extravagant breakfast. I'm playing it smart...

Re: Van Isle Traverse

This looks amazing and I want to do it. But this has to be planned way in the future. I'm not sure I can negotiate using this much of my vacation time on non-family activities either... sigh.

Excellent! More riders. Sounds like we'll be spread over multiple accommodations. I will post some options soon. But let's agree to have some beers together after the ride!

Just don’t fetter the experience by recalling how James improved an already stonking chewn a hundred-fold in Seattle, 1989, by changing the lyric to “DI*KR*SH!!"
I think that is the new word to stop yacking and get riding 😳
