Re: May 2 - Ride for Water - Chilliwack

Not fully committed. I'm about a propane tank away from that...

Just waiting to get feel for numbers and wanting to do a little more accommodation research.

Also, I can tell you that not all bike lanes were cleared this morning. Fort St bike lane were horrible and impossible to use.

Nice pics Claire and it sounds like you made the right call to stay local. Here's hoping the snow recedes for some good riding this weekend...

I'm gonna try and haul my butt out on my usual bike Todd... I suspect most of us will suffer together.

Re: Wednesday, January 15 - SNOWcross!

I'm a maybe.

A) I don't want to fall, get hurt, and ruin a fantastic Sunday ride
B) My bicycle will be entering an awkward Chrysalis phase on Wednesday...

And here's a bizarre, somewhat related GIF...

Re: Sunday CX - the last ride before the snow?

I'll leave from Fairbucks at 7:30 and snake up through CHGC. I think 8:15 at the Blenkinsop Greenway and Lochside is most likely.

JT, I'll give it you straight. Yes you are. It's a good thing you are riding with L3 tomorrow. She'll straighten you out in a jiffy.

L3, 7:50 is optimistic...

Re: Sunday CX - the last ride before the snow?

Geoff, that might make a good route for nasty weather too. Whatever we decide we just need a clear meetup time and place for L3. I think JTs proposal meets L3s thetis requirements better though... Just sayin'

Re: Sunday CX - the last ride before the snow?

Okay, given the weather forecast I'm all for aborting the Skirt climbs. I'll be at Fairbucks at 7:30 and do whatever.

Re: Sunday CX - the last ride before the snow?

That sounds good L3. I'm pretty easy going about where we go and don't have my mind set on anywhere in particular. I've been toying around with eventually doing this ride: https://www.strava.com/routes/23351560 And it could be adapted by cutting out the Millhouse exodus to Skirt Climbs (x2) and just...

Re: Angry TC opinion column on soft-ground damage by "Selfish, obtuse cyclists"

Just to be clear (So I am not perceived as the irresponsible villain), I see nothing wrong with biking down a sanctioned muddy trail and enjoying the already churned up and muddy ground (Thetis!). Not that I would aim to ride only muddy trails, but they come up. Needlessely destroying flower beds ai...

Re: Angry TC opinion column on soft-ground damage by "Selfish, obtuse cyclists"

Ugggh, the pompous tone made me vomit in my mouth and I couldn't read the entire "article". I disagree with much of the assertions. First, why can't a meadow have a beautiful beaten path? Works for Scotland. Second, are cyclists really causing all the mud? Come on, give mother nature and the maraudi...

Re: May 2 - Ride for Water - Chilliwack

I agree Ann, the medio ride seems most appropriate to me too. Hopefully you can un-self-inflict yourself. Rob, I have a tentative hall pass but my family can't join in on hot spring fun (though they want to) due to ballet performances and band trips. I see camping is an option with registration. So ...

Seems like flares just keep coming back into fashion.
@ron. You looking for moreflare, or did something happen to your bike on the way up Skirt?
I'm just satisfying my need to tinker... I mean, err yes, I found out I could have shaved a minute off the climb!!

May 2 - Ride for Water - Chilliwack

Just came across this Gravel Fondo that looks like it could be super fun (and Chilliwack isn't too far away).

I'm working on a hall pass now. Let me know if you are interested.
