Jay, Erin, Riley to ride World Cup in Milton

We knew about Jay, who has been riding the World Cup circuit for a couple years, but two more Tripleshot alumnae have been tapped to ride in Canada’s home stop in the World Cup. Erin Attwell will ride (team pursuit I think), and Riley Pickrell, a first year u23 is riding Madison.

I think we need a Tripleshot banner there. Anyone made a hand made banner? What material needed? Would people sign it if I bring it to coffee?

That's a great idea. If you need a hemmed border I would sew that. I'm sure everyone would love to sign it.

Thanks Louise, that’s a cool offer! Let me figure out material and I’ll get back to you.

Erin just let me know she’s doing team pursuit and Madison at Milton. And also that Jay won’t be there; they decided to keep the A team in New Zealand to prepare for world championships in March, and the development team will race Milton. Riley and Erin will be well qualified to carry the Tripleshot flag.

Vs the world.

Well, I got a no on the banner, and then a yes, but only this week, so had to scramble to make a banner. Sorry I didn’t have time to drive around. To all 250 members houses for signatures, but hope you’ll feel represented

Second fastest qualifier, behind the US powered by Dygert.

Erin pulled back a big chunk of time in her last pull. And this with the B team. And apparently they’re all sick.

You’ve probably already seen it, but Erin’s team won the bronze medal! The A team training is Australia has to be looking over its shoulders. Another good ride for Erin too, one of the strongest riders of the team.

If you get a chance, watch pursuits with a stop watch, time lap splits and note the pacing and who does what. (Which of course is what we all do during ttts at uvic, but with leg sense vs a watch.)

Erin for example was tapped to do a huge pull with 3-4 laps to go, then drop out (3 needed to finish). But another rider touched a wheel and got gapped. However Erin had the legs to hold on as third. Makes it really dramatic to know how deep she had to dig. (Story subject to validation from Erin. :)
